Gomina is a leading manufacturer of saw blades for bone surgery and micro mechanical precision parts for medical technology. We develop and produce our surgical instruments exclusively in Switzerland and market our products worldwide.
The high requirements of saw technology commanded by surgeons form the basis for our innovations. Today our new and innovative saw blades are used routinely in many knee, hip, foot and hand operations to the benefit of patients.
Gomina has just pioneered the development of a saw tooth geometry for oscillating saw blades sporting a combination of sharpened cutting and raker teeth. This unique combination of saw teeth results in outstanding sawing performances. The new tooth geometry and teeth arrangement also minimise any sideways movement during sawing thereby simplifying the handling for the operator.
Since the founding of Gomina in 1974, we have made it our business to be precise.
Since then, Gomina has become a leader in the production of micro-mechanical precision components. Precision that is used around the world in medical technology and sensor technology.
From the initial blank to the packaged finished product, Gomina carries out all processing steps
in-house, in compliance with the Swiss Quality Label. Alongside our standard product range, we continue to develop and innovate in close cooperation with our customers, creating pioneering solutions for the benefit of patients.
Gomina receives the award “Goldener Cäsar”. This annual award is a great appreciation for the economic achievement in the region Goms.
40 years Gomina. 4 decades of innovation – 4 decades of precision. Numerous visitors of the region, the employees’ relatives, and guests from politics and authorities joined the Open Day and contributed to the successful event.

Development and production of the new generation of saw blades for bone surgery, in particular for knee replacements and hip operations.
Transfer from Fiesch to Niederwald into the new building. Extension of the area of production with modern CNC machines.
Establishment of the Grinding Technology Division for the production of saw blades which today are used in Swiss Army Knives.
Foundation of Gomina. With a staff of ten people in Fiesch, Gomina started the production and the supply of parts for the electrical and apparatus industries.

Our standard product range are oscillating and reciprocating saw blades with various teeth shapes and geometries in all sizes and arrangement. Gomina has pioneered the development of a tooth geometry for oscillating saw blades. A unique combination of sharpened cutting and raker saw teeth results in outstanding sawing performances. Shorter sawing periods and lower temperatures at the Saw Blade are its most striking advantages. The diamond-shaped sharpened cutting teeth achieve a high quality surface cut and the equally sharpened raker teeth ensure a clean cut groove. The new geometrical tooth design and tooth alignment also minimize any sideways swerve during sawing and simplify the handling for the operator.
Based on our decades of experience in abrasion technology, we also produce sophisticated reamers and rasps in various shapes, abrasive patterns and surface roughnesses. Alongside our standard product range, we also work in close cooperation with our customers to continuously develop innovative and trendsetting solutions for the benefit of patients.
Our precise micro mechanic parts are used in medical, sensor and automotive technologies. Sharp edges free of burrs are the major challenges to which we aspire to today. Depending on the final application, the parts are manufactured with titanium, steel or ceramics. From prototype production up to high volume production, we cover the whole spectrum.
